A New Year Day’s Thoughts
It seems as if today is a fleeting day.
A transition
A promising day for the year to come.
It seems as if this day is meant for new year’s resolutions, for decision making, for starting over, for living its every moment to the fullest.
As if what happens today marks the whole year long.
It is a fleeting day today.
And it will soon pass.
It is as fleeting as any day can be.
And this is my suggestion: why can’t every day – equally fleeting, precarious, frightening, mesmerizing as today – be a new beginning?
Every day has the potential of a miracle.
Every day has the potential of a nightmare.
Life has nothing to do with perfection. You can never be prepared for that which shall arrive.
But – if you want – you can make choices.
You can love unconditionally. Get hurt. Get ecstatic. Fall on your face – or on someone’s lap.
You can be passionate about your work. Choose your profession. Find your purpose in life. Claim your way to lead it. Change your mind, again and again and again. Start over.
No compromises.
You can have empathy for the people around you. You can be open-minded and caring.
You can protect the soil you step on and the air you breath.
You can cherish life in all its forms and expressions.
You can stand your ground and live. Every moment. Of every day.
To the fullest.
No regrets.
Being human was never about being perfect or fitting into a certain image. Accept your flaws and the flaws of others. Be considerate. Come closer. Feel.
I guess to ‘have succeeded’ is to become the closest to -human as possible.
If you want.
